Here is an interesting article by Dan Buettner for the HUFFPOST about the longevity benefits of the old Okinawan diet and how the encroachment of a western diet has blunted longevity. Note the old diet was made up of over 60% of their type of sweet potato while fish, meat and poultry accounted for around 2%. -R
